Meet

Rachel Anderson

I am a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) who provides compassionate, faith-integrated counseling for individuals, couples, and families seeking healing, growth, and restored connection. I specialize in concerns related to anxiety, OCD, depression, sexual integrity, codependency, divorce recovery, and relational challenges, helping clients move from cycles of pain and confusion toward clarity, freedom, and hope.

I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC), earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University, and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Arizona State University, where I began my formal training in psychology. With both academic preparation and extensive life experience, I bring a grounded, thoughtful approach to therapy that honors each client’s unique story.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and utilize other trauma-informed modalities, including Internal Family Systems (IFS). I am particularly skilled at helping clients understand entrenched patterns, heal unresolved wounds, and develop healthier emotional and relational responses. The gospel truth of Galatians 5:1 informs my work: “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.”  I consider it a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they pursue genuine healing and freedom.

Central to my work is my belief that lasting change occurs when the whole person’s internal design—spirit, soul, and body—is addressed. I integrate evidence-based clinical practices with a Christian worldview for clients who desire faith-informed counseling. I have completed foundational training in biblical counseling through the Biblical Counseling Center and have served in leadership roles within youth, campus, singles, marriage ministries, and divorce recovery programs, giving me deep insight into relational pain and restoration processes in the various seasons of life.

Prior to entering the counseling profession, I spent over 20 years in mortgage lending, bringing a strong work ethic, professionalism, and real-world perspective into the therapy room. Originally from Chicago, I moved to Arizona in 1993 and now enjoy hiking, golf, Christian yoga, and exploring local restaurants with family and friends. My husband and I, along with our two young adult children, also serve on mission trips to Mexico, where we help build homes and strengthen the community.

I practice under the direct supervision of Candace Cook, MS, LPC, an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. I offer in-person sessions on Tuesdays through Fridays in Tempe or online sessions for Arizona residents.
